Syllabus

This course consists of 3 modules containing ten individual units in total.

Part 1 Promoting and Maintaining Health

Chapter 1: What is child health?
Chapter 2: The factors affecting health in children
Chapter 3: Keeping children healthy

Part 2 Recognising and dealing with Illness

Chapter 4: Recognising general signs of illness in children
Chapter 5: The main conditions affecting babies under 1 year
Chapter 6: The main conditions affecting children 1-8 years old
Chapter 7: Accident prevention and first aid

Part 3 Working with Sick Children

Chapter 8: Caring for sick children
Chapter 9: Caring for children in hospital and with chronic illness
Chapter 10: Child health surveillance and screening

Qualification:

Students will be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Baby and Child Health Care.

Study Hours:

Students can register for this course at any time. Average completion time is approximately 80 hours overall, however there is no time limit for you to complete.
